Position Overview

Ragtag Film Society is seeking detail-oriented and organized Development & Operations Interns to support our sponsorship, marketing, and administrative operations. Working under the direct supervision of core department leads, this hands-on position provides this is a hands-on position that provides exposure to the day-to-day operations of a nonprofit arts organization.

The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, comfortable working with spreadsheets and databases, and able to manage a variety of recurring administrative tasks with accuracy and professionalism. The intern should be comfortable taking initiative, asking questions when needed, and handling both routine responsibilities and occasional special projects.

Duties Include:
Sponsorship & Development Support
  • Prepare and send donor & sponsor thank-you notes and other correspondence.
  • Deliver sponsor posters, window clings, and other promotional materials to appropriate locations.
  • Research potential sponsors and identify relevant contact information, including email addresses and other outreach details.
  • Assist with sponsor-related social media content, including tagging sponsors and gathering or organizing photos and other promotional materials.
  • Maintain and update volunteer information in organizational databases.
  • Clean and organize patron data, including identifying and removing duplicate passholder and ticket-holder records.
  • Assist with data analysis and preparation for grant reporting and applications.
  • Help ensure data is accurate, consistent, and ready for reporting.
Marketing & Administrative Support
  • Assist with monthly distribution of cinema program flyers throughout the community.
  • Punch and prepare cinema vouchers for distribution and use.
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining promotional materials and supplies.
  • Assist marketing team with other duties tied to social media and video as needed
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and traits:
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet recurring deadlines.
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, databases, and other digital tools.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle administrative and financial information responsibly and maintain confidentiality.
  • Comfortable performing both independent work and collaborative team tasks.
  • Ability to follow established procedures while also identifying opportunities to improve organization and efficiency.
  • Willingness to learn new software, systems, and nonprofit administrative processes.
  • Ability to travel locally within the community for flyer/poster distribution
  • Interest in independent film, the arts, nonprofit organizations, or community engagement is encouraged but not required.

Compensation: Ragtag Cinema Couch Club membership and T/F Classic. Unpaid internship for school credit, or small stipend.  Hours per week: 10–15 hours/week. Modality: in-person (downtown location) Duration / Term: ideally year-round or for an academic semester.
