SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR – RAGTAG FILM SOCIETY

Ragtag Film Society is looking for a social media coordinator that will aid the marketing manager in producing engaging, clever, and informative content for Ragtag Film Society’s social media channels. The social media coordinator will have exceptional writing skills, an aptitude for social media tone/voice, and a deep understanding of Ragtag Film Society’s many facets.

Duties Include:
  • Work with the communications manager to cultivate social media strategy & channels for True/False Film Fest and Ragtag Cinema
  • Design, schedule, and publish social media content for all RFS channels
  • Maintain marketing and social media calendars and timelines
  • Coordinate social media during festival weekend, including scheduling & overseeing a small team of volunteers, and publishing social media
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and traits:
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent communication design eye and skills with awareness of RFS brand and aesthetic;
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks;
  • Active interest in/knowledge about the film industry and organizational mission;
  • Marketing experience, including experience managing professional social media platforms and an aptitude for social media tone/voice;
  • Excitement and enthusiasm for social media and interest in innovative, creative social media content;
  • Working experience with GSuite platforms, Zoom, Slack, and Airtable, and bulk email services;
  • Working experience with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Canva.
Compensation & Culture: This is a part-time position with a rate of $17/hour and 15-20 hours/week on average from October-December and 20-25 hours/week on average from January-February and during True/False 2026 (Mar. 5-8). Some evening and weekend work is expected.  This position is based in Columbia, Missouri, and at this time, we are not considering remote candidates.
