T/F Following CDC Recommendations

True/False Film Fest, a project of the Ragtag Film Society, considers safety a priority and is taking precautions as recommended by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). While there are no active cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the state and Missouri is currently at a lower risk than other places in the world, we are working closely with Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services to reduce the risks to mid-Missourians and participants of True/False. After considering the locations from which guests will be traveling, and in keeping with current guidelines from the CDC, the Health Department sees no reason to alter plans for the Fest at this time.

In addition to increasing the number of hand sanitation stations at film venues, the Box Office, and events (particularly those with food), True/False will provide CDC-approved signage encouraging people to wash hands effectively and often.

The community should be aware of the symptoms for both Influenza (flu) and COVID-19 as stated by the CDC, and stay home if they are ill. Additionally, guests, volunteers, and the community should follow the CDC’s safety precautions and preventive measures, which include:

  • Wash your hands for 20 seconds (pro tip: the ABC song and the Happy Birthday song are both about 20 seconds long!), before and after eating, after using the restroom, and after blowing your nose or touching garbage
  • If water & soap are unavailable, use 62% alcohol-based hand sanitizer
  • When coughing and sneezing, cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue – discard tissue immediately
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Stay home or in your hotel if you have a fever

True/False will continue communications with the Columbia/Boone County Health Department and monitor information put out by the CDC regarding COVID-19, then update safety protocol accordingly.
