Every classic picture needs an equally strong soundtrack. Similarly, music is an essential part of the fabric and energy of True/False, such an important part of the festival experience, in fact, that some have called T/F a music fest disguised as a film fest. Artists can be found embedded in all aspects of the festival footprint, from film screenings to showcases, afterparties to the March March and beyond. 

True/False seeks musical acts to be part of creating a truly unique experience at this year’s festival, March 5 – 8, 2026. This year, we are particularly keen on featuring local and regional musicians to perform 30 minute sets as film-goers take their seats prior to the film screening. We especially encourage emerging artists, solo acts and small ensembles, and those with the ability to modify their setups to unorthodox performance spaces to apply. Applications close on November 21, 5PM CST.
