Merch Coordinator – True/False Film Fest

Are you someone with a strong sensibility of how to bring a brand to life via merchandising? We’re looking for a merchandise coordinator for the annual True/False Film Fest who has an appreciation for the cultural mission of Ragtag Film Society and wants to apply their savvy to our team.

Duties Include:
  • Working with the festival art direction, determine the line-up of festival merchandise and the designs for each item;
  • Source suppliers for all festival merchandise, placing orders, managing production of merchandise, and managing sales of all merchandise;
  • Ensure that all merchandise is produced in time for distribution or sale;
  • Displaying and selling merchandise on site at festival venues;
  • Recruiting, scheduling, and managing festival merchandise store managers and volunteers;
  • Act as one of the merch store managers during the Fest;
  • Tracking Fest inventory of merchandise;
  • Manage the online merchandise store and fulfill online orders between mid-November and mid-March; turn the online store off during the Fest, and back on again after doing post-Fest inventory.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and traits:
  • Superb customer service skills;
  • A creative eye for design and display curation;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Ability to lift 25lbs 
  • Highly organized, attentive to detail;
  • Self-driven individual with the desire to be part of a cultural organization that has a positive impact on its communities;
  • Computer savvy, including Shopify, GSuite platforms, Zoom, Slack, and Airtable, and confidence with other database use;
  • Manufacturer/vendor knowledge and relationships preferred.
Compensation & Culture: This role is a part-time independent contractor position with a non-profit in Columbia, Missouri. We offer a results-oriented work environment, flexibility in setting your own schedule, and a collaborative culture supportive of innovation. Compensation is a flat stipend of $4,500 for the 2026 Fest season.
