Announcing the First Annual True Life Run

A new, bright-and-early tradition at T/F, the True Life Run challenges all comers to start Saturday, March 5 with a mad run through the streets of downtown Columbia. The 5 kilometer race will start at 8am and take in the landmarks of our fair city, offering a handful of elective adventures along the way to shave time and pick up valuable prizes. (For those who want to keep their head down and their feet moving, the course can be taken straight-up, without all the crazy business)

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to T/F’s philanthropic effort, the True Life Fund.

The True Life Fund was started in 2007 in order to offer tangible and meaningful assistance to the real-life subjects of a new film, the title of which will be announced in January. The fund is an acknowledgment that documentary filmmakers and festivals thrive because of the stories given to us by people who are often of limited means.

Following the run, participants will be encouraged to attend a morning screening of the True Life film at the Missouri Theatre. As at all screenings at T/F, there will be a post-film discussion with the filmmakers.

The entry fee of $25 includes the race, official race T-shirt, and a quick breakfast at the end. For an additional $5, you can snag a ticket to the Saturday morning screening of the True Life film (vs. $8 at the box office).
