Alright, alright! After a number of requests, we’ve decided to extend our Gimme Truth! deadline until next Friday, the 19th, at 5pm. If you’ve already submitted, you’re welcome to revisit your entries. And if you haven’t started, it’s not too late!
Gimme Truth! is our annual filmmaking competition for Missouri residents. Create a 2-minute profile of a Missourian that is 100% true or 100% false. We’ll pick our ten favorites to participate in a ’60s-era-esque game show (think “What’s My Line”), which will be held Saturday, February 27 at The Blue Note. Contestants in the game show will be visiting documentary filmmakers from around the world. As the shorts screen, they will compete against each other guessing which videos are true and which ones are false. As they do this, they will also serve as judges, picking their favorites from among the ten finalists. Prizes will be awarded to the ten finalists. Additionally, the top three films will receive cash and in-kind prize packages, with no less than $500 in combined cash and prizes for first prize.
If you submit an entry, you will receive a ticket to Gimme Truth! If you are one of the ten picked, you will receive three tickets in addition to your own. Have any questions? Email Jay Johnson at [email protected].
