Sharing live cinema with others is a beloved pastime for our audiences and is essential to our mission. In the context of the pandemic, it has been imperative to find innovative ways of offering communal, cinematic experiences in ways that feel safe, and one of our innovations is to take the show on the road and offer a turnkey movie rental and screening service called Ragtag Road Shows.
With the combined experience of running a theater and producing one of the world鈥檚 premiere doc festivals, the time is right for RFS to bring our expertise to businesses, organizations, and the private sector. We supply the equipment, site checks, and professional staff to ensure a flawless film screening for your event. You pick the film and location, or we鈥檒l help line them up for you. We can even provide social distancing advice to support the safest possible experience for you and your guests.
Rental Packages
We have 4 standard packages, which are priced per single screening/event. Discounts are available for nonprofits and individuals.
Additional costs may apply, and additional services are available 脿 la carte. For example, if extra staff are requested to help with check-in or parking; if extra equipment is needed to ensure operational site safety (for example, if site does not have access to adequate power, a generator may be required; if site does not have bathroom facilities, port-a-potties must be rented); or if supplemental materials like a study guide/curricula are of use to your viewers!
THE DRIVE-IN ($4,500)
A screening for up to 100 cars comes with:

路 Professional sound system (FM transmitters or other) to listen from vehicles
路 40' Inflatable screen
路 Top-quality Blu-Ray player (if needed)

THE BIG LAWN ($3,500)
A screening for up to 500 people comes with:
路 Personalized movie-going experience developed in consultation with technical & operational pros
路 Specialized event crew
路 Premiere quality projector
路 Professional sound system
路 20' Inflatable screen
路 Top-quality Blu-Ray player (if needed)
路 Complimentary rain date
THE AUDIO PRO ($1,500)
An audio team for weddings or other non-film events comes with:
路 Consultation with technical pros on event audio needs
路 Specialized crew & professional audio gear

THE CINEMA ($350-$550)

Film/Media Selection
- You are welcome and encouraged to provide your own media, whether that’s a BluRay, DVD, or login information for a streaming platform!
- With regard to live-streamed events: Cardinal Baseball, MU Football and other events can be live-streamed, depending upon site capabilities. Additional licensing and equipment fees may apply.聽
- As an add-on to your event package, we are also able to book a film directly from a distributor for you. Additional licensing and equipment fees may apply.
Capabilities
The projection system used for all events is DCI-compliant. It is also able to play a variety of video and audio formats.
Venue
We assume that most businesses will want to use their own parking lot for a drive-in experience. However, if you are looking to enhance your experience with food and beverage packages or just want to see a different view, we鈥檙e happy to explore an alternative site.
