Box Office Know How

Filed under: 2009, Box Office, Previous Fests, Updates — jeremy @ 1:43 pm

In order to help you prepare for the opening of the the T/F Box Office this year, our trusty box office crew has put together a guide to the box office. Read below for everything you need to know about getting tickets and picking up your pass.

Location:

The box office has moved this year to the “Artisan Annex,” (808 Cherry St.), which is located right next door to the Cherry Street Artisan.

Box Office Hours:

  • Wednesday, February 25: 5 pm- 8 pm (pass holder pick up only)
  • Thursday, February 26: 9 am- 10 pm; (9 am- 12 pm pass holder pick up only)
  • Friday, February 27: 9 am- 10 pm
  • Saturday, February 28: 9 am- 10 pm
  • Sunday, March 1: 10 am- 5 pm

 Pass Holders:

We have designated times that you can pick up passes and reserved ticket orders (Wed., Feb. 25, 5 pm – 8 pm; Thurs. Feb. 26, 9 am – 12 pm) before the Box Office opens for ticket sales. You will NOT be able to get additional tickets during these hours. This is for PICK-UP ONLY.

If you want to exchange or amend your order, or purchase additional tickets for a friend you can do so at 12 pm on Thursday when the box office opens for ticket sales (see below for further information).

Your pass will be held for you in the Box Office.  If you can can’t make the Express Pick-up, you can come at anytime during normal Box Office hours.

General Ticket Sales/Pass Holder Ticket Exchanges on Thursday:

The Box Office will open for ticket sales at 12 pm on Thurs., Feb 26. We will start handing out line numbers starting at 9 am that morning, as we expect crowds. The line number you receive will determine your place in line at noon.* Once you receive your line number you can leave the Box Office and come back closer to noon to line up.

The Cherry Street Artisan will be used as a place for patrons of the festival to hang out while you are waiting for your line number to be called. While you are waiting at Artisan, you can peruse the T/F program and figure out your movie picks. Please refer to the film boards for a listing of screenings for which we have tickets available. For all NRT screenings, you will need to Q up at the venue if you would like to see that film.

Box office staff will be calling line numbers at the Artisan. When your group is called, you will line up at the Artisan Annex.

*Box Office staff may give you a rough estimate of your wait time but we cannot guarantee the time it will take for people to move through the line. It is your responsibility to be available to line up when your group is called or the line will move on without you!

At 5:30 pm today, we will post a list of films that still have tickets available. Rest assured that there will be thousands of tickets available for purchase when the box office opens.

Ok, folks, the 2009 True/False schedule, in all its glory, is up on the site. You can read about the films, you can peruse the grid, and, starting in the next few days (depending on your pass type), you can reserve tickets! That’s all for now. It’s still a bit of a blur up here at T/F central as we work against the clock to get the paper program off to the printer, but we’ll be sending our more news, tips and updates soon. Stay tuned!
